SAMA Nominated and Coachella Music Festival performing artist, Cara Frew, crafts her music at the intersection of pop sensibility, electronic grooves, and organic, earthy soundscapes. Originating from South Africa, her music weaves soulful vocals seamlessly with the vibrant resonance of acoustic guitar and the pulsating rhythm of African drums.
Cara’s debut album, “Flame,” released worldwide through Sony Music Entertainment, garnered critical acclaim. Her effortless single "Free" earned a SAMA nomination, while her collaboration with American DJ SNBRN on "You Got Me" amassed over ten million plays on Spotify & Soundcloud. Additionally, she had the privilege of opening for renowned UK band "The Script" on the South African leg of their world tour.
On home soil, Cara joined forces with one of Africa’s leading exports, world-renowned DJ and music producer Black Coffee. ‘’I’ll Find You’’ marked the inaugural release off Black Coffee’s 2015 album. This collaboration led to exhilarating performances at Ultra Music Festival Miami, Ultra Music Festival South Africa, and Sónar Johannesburg.
Cara's musical journey has been honed through years of dedication, including studies at Berklee College of Music, earning a Master Certificate in vocal performance, piano, production, song writing, and music theory from the Malie Kelly Vocal Academy, and enrollment in the Song Writing School of Los Angeles. Alongside notable sync placements on ABC hit series Pretty Little Liars and Vanderpump Rules, she has collaborated with industry stalwarts such as Lauren Christy and Andre Lindal, the creative forces behind Kelly Clarkson’s Grammy-Award winning "Stronger". Influenced by artists ranging from Amy Winehouse to Lana Del Rey, Cara realised her dream with her EP "Come Close to Me," which was produced by Daniel Heath, renowned for his work with Lana Del Rey. All four tracks were co-written with Stefan Skarbek, who collaborated closely with Amy Winehouse.
Cara's artistry transcends borders. She has headlined the live stage at Ultra Music Festival in Singapore, resonated with audiences throughout Toronto at Canadian Music Week, and sold out shows in Los Angeles, including an unforgettable performance at Johnny Depp’s iconic Viper Room, nestled on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood.

Cara supports a number of charitable causes ranging from social responsibility to nature conservation and animal rights. Notably, she is a Helping Rhino's and WWF ambassador and feels strongly about working to preserve the heritage of our country and the world for future generations.
Cara see's the value in hard work and understands what it feels like to be vulnerable which lead her to launch her own initiative “Music Heals”, that aims to help prevent young women and children from being sexually abused and equip them with skills to be able to make the most of their lives. Her workshop also teaches boys to respect girls so that they grow up into men of honor and integrity and thereby make them a part of the solution. She is proud to be an ambassador for one of the world's most significant child protection organizations, Women and Men against Child Abuse.
She has also partnered with Khulisa Social solutions in the “Daring to Dream” initiative which encompasses two projects that focus on providing young people from disadvantaged communities with skills early on in life to enable them to be the best citizens they can be and equip them for their future success. The Rock and Rhyme workshop focuses on ECD and uses English nursery rhymes with song and dance to expand the understanding of the English language, develop cognitive and motor skills and teach moral and social lessons, giving them a good grounding, enabling them to cope well at school and beyond. The Grab your Dream is geared towards inspiring, encouraging and empowering the youth to become contributing members of society and therefore be less likely to fall into the cycle of crime and violence.
